Our Vision:
We want to create a game, where users can make their own gameplay relevant items. For non-competitive games this exists and is very awesome, but for competitive games, this is a cursed problem. It is cursed, because players want to create crazy overpowered things.
We want to create a game that is created by the players and everyone can contribute. That is why a trading card game was chosen. You don't need to be a 3D artist to create things, you don't need to be a programmer, it is doable for everyone.
We want to create a game, where players have the power. That is why players vote on cards and overpowered cards are automatically nerfed (balanced) through player vote. Not the game devs decide over the balance but the active players.
The Game:
We love Magic the Gathering and we love Hearthstone. Both games have things, that we don't like. We try to combine the best of both worlds and also do some totally new things. For example simultaneous turns. Both players play at the same time. This reduces waiting time and means less game flow interruptions. Magic has an impressive depth and complexity. Hearthstone is accessible and simple. We want to keep the depth of Magic but have the game as simple as Hearhtstone. To achieve this our cards can do a lot of things like in Magic, Spawn other cards, have triggers etc., but everything is done via simple keywords. Gwent has impressed us in this regard and we have had a look there. We like the concept of Heroes, that give a deck a main theme, but we don't like the rigidness of Hearthstones heroes, so we had a look at Commander in Magic and we have a similar approach with HQs, much more combinations are possible. And we like Yomi. This is reading the mind of the opponent and making your move accordingly. That is why we have redesigned combat, so that mind games are more frequent.
Who we are:
We started as a small group of friends and over the time more contributors have joined and left. Everybody works for shares and it is easy to join and leave. If you want to join and work with us, just let us know. Currently we mostly need Unity devs, but other devs are also welcome to set up infrastructure, website etc.. Artists and game designers are welcome of course as well, since everybody can create cards ;-)
Where we are:
We are currently quite close to make our game client publicy available, so if you want to just try it out, check back soon. We are already making the game available to interested individuals who are creating cards and getting feedback there.
